Isolation…Truth and Today

It’s been a crazy few weeks. Our country and many across the globe have been in an uproar over COVID 19. Sadly, many people have fallen victim to it, whether physically, emotionally, financially or spiritually. Or yeah, all of the above.

Where did it come from?

Where is it going?

Why is it here?

When will it stop?

The questions keep coming. The answers vary from day to day. Mixed signals. Confusion. Fear.

Let’s get off the merry-go-round for a moment.

This I know. Very early on, God said, “it is not good for Man to be alone…” And he wasn’t just talking about Adam and Eve in my opinion. Even though I border on being a hermit, I know people are wired to be together, to interact, to have relationships. A hug is a great thing! Isolation breeds things worse than a virus. Things like depression, anger, hopelessness. Truth and love are a magic eraser that can eliminate those negative things.

Let’s reset. Let’s make a difference. Take a deep breath.

We have the opportunity to recognize the beauty, the power, the value of each other. Jesus totally got that. That’s why he came in human form to begin with. He didn’t have to. It probably wasn’t exactly “convenient” for him. He did it, though.

Why?

Because…he said,

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13, NIV

His words and behavior pretty much fly in the face of our cultural norms today. And you know what? That’s really ok, because his has stood the test of time. It’s perfect, just like him.

Let’s make our world better. We can do this together.
