Seasons

It’s been a minute since I dropped anything here.

I’ve been busy – not in the ways people normally say that. I’ve been busy emerging, which is my “one word” for 2026.

Emerging from what, you may ask?

  • Hermit mode
  • Commuting
  • Past triggers – such as rejection
  • Embracing the joy of writing children’s books
  • Mingling at a festival

Growing up on the farm in Michigan helped foster a deep appreciation of seasons. Solomon talked about them, sometimes in a melancholy way. I don’t feel sad at all about this progression. It’s actually evolutionary, rather than revolutionary.

And you know what? All the time – in every season, there is One who walks before us. I rather like trying to see His footsteps on the trail and trying to stay in that lane.

Not dramatic. Just ambling along enjoying the scenery. How about you?
