About Rose Garretson – Author, Lightworker, Creator
Hey there, I’m Rose—a Michigan farm girl turned Texas dreamer, weaving stories, songs, and spiritual reflections from my hermit’s haven in Dallas. Raised in the rolling hills north of Detroit, I grew up marveling at nature’s beauty and God’s handiwork—a love that still fuels my writing, from allegorical tales (Songs of the Forest) to gothic mystery romance (Discoveries).

I’ve lived in Illinois, Florida, New Mexico, and now call Texas home, where everything’s bigger—including my dreams! By day, I’m a Construction Project Manager, taming chaos with grit and strategy. But in my heart, I’m a lightworker and empathic creative, here to encourage and heal through words. I’ve published eight books on Amazon (yep, eight!), spanning gothic mysteries, faith-filled allegories, and even cheeky country lyrics like “Grown Ass Man”, soon to be recorded in our Dallas studio with my bestie Southern drawl.
My faith keeps me grounded—though I miss my parents dearly, I know we’ll reunite one day. Until then, I find joy in the small things: Whimzee and Izzee (my schnorkies), a chile dish simmering on the stove, the stars over my 5-acre Haven on the Brazos River bluff, and the quiet solitude where my best ideas bloom.
Here at rosegarretson.com, I share my journey as a writer and “overthinker”. Dive into my blog for spiritual meditations (The Door), poetry (Whispers of Hope), and more. Explore my books on Amazon, from gothic romance to faith-filled tales, or listen to my recordings on SoundCloud. We Irish can’t quite help ourselves – we are story tellers and singers!
Want to stay in the loop? Join my monthly newsletter for new posts, books, and tunes—I promise to keep it light, leaving you space to recharge, just like I do. That will be coming in June, 2025.
And now, for the real stars of my life – Izzee and Whimzee – AKA, “The Littles”.
Let’s find beauty together—whether in a story, a song, or a quiet moment of gratitude. Being grateful is the start of a wonderful journey. Care to join me?
