Next

The sunlight slants,

Its rays different now than in summer’s heat,

Angling through the windowpane –

A merciful change.

The sky, still vibrant, yet subdued,

Beckons on this October morn.

Changes are in the wind

Which tangles through my hair.

The heartbeat within is strong and steady,

And full of shivering expectation.

Laughter. Joy. Hope. Happiness

Roll into my consciousness.

Patterns uncharted and unknown

Are in actuality a gift.

For life, in its very essence

Is a mystery to be explored.

As I continue to awaken,

I am full of gratitude for not knowing…

Merely embracing the moment.

Next will take care of itself.
