Thresholds

The angels’ cries are echoing in my heart today, “Gloria in excelsis Deo!” Glory to God in the Highest!

Our God has drawn near, not that He is ever far away. In fact, He is so near that without His presence our hearts would cease to beat. Every breath we breathe, every hair on our head, every thought and word (heaven help me!) are known. Does that stir your heart? I hope so.

Today, as we have crossed another marker, let us rejoice! The current state of affairs humanly speaking may look grim. It may appear hopeless. Not so. We must look with our spiritual eyes. Through the grace and mercy of God, there is hope, strength and power in abundance! Not because of us or our gifts and abilities – because of Him.

• He is Perfect.
• He is Sovereign.
• He is Loving.

Today, the first day of January 2022 – lift your voice in thanks for His character, for His goodness, for His carefully orchestrated plans for your life. Wear the praises of God as you would your favorite clothing. Eagerly put it on.  Dress yourself in it – wrap yourself in the joy of being a child of God.

God doesn’t need us to be perfect – just available. Lean back. Rest in Him and allow Him to lead you this year. Decide to follow. We are at a crossroads (isn’t it funny how sometimes the English language is so apt?) The power and might of the Risen King will not be slowed, swayed or stopped.

Our CROSSroads. Remember, Jesus said, “It is finished.” He wasn’t kidding.

You can bank on that. You can bank on Him.
