Let it Shine

Sometimes life is strange. There are moments when everything seems crystal clear and “proper”. Then, suddenly something unseen shifts and things may feel confused and out of sorts. Have you been there?

The past month has been uphill. Very uphill. There were moments of intense doubt, wondering why the heck am I here? What is the point – other than to care for my dog? Those who know me may be surprised by this, because I tend toward optimism. I’m usually at least a “half-full” kind of girl. I will confess the static of doubt has been difficult in the past weeks.

Which leads me to to wonder if I am not the only one? If I had to hazard a guess, maybe you have felt some of this, too? If so, there is encouragement to be found. There is a recipe of sorts in the Scripture below.

“Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” Phil 2: 1-4 NLT

This is kind of barometer to see how we are doing and what actions we can take to positively affect our world. Where is our focus? Is it internal or external? What are we actively seeking to better?

Today I write for you, whoever you are. If you are weary, discouraged, uncertain – there is hope! If we can truly care about each other, our world will collectively be a better place. Sure, there are those who do not want this, but I will choose to believe there are more of us who do.

Anyway, that’s the direction I want to head. It seems infinitely preferable to the alternative.

Sing it with me – “This little light of mine, I’m gonna let it shine…”

Come on…let’s glow together.

Love,

Rose
